A fundraising event to benefit Heads Up! Therapeutic Riding Program will be held this weekend, February 5-7 at New Horizons Trading Company in downtown Pittsboro. If you haven't visited New Horizons, it is a boutique which features clothes, shoes and gifts. This weekend there will be a sale of manufacturer's samples which will be sold at 50% off of the retail price. These samples are from Cut-Loose, Neon Buddha and Pure hand-knit sweaters.
On Friday evening there will be an after hours event with drinks and refreshments from 6:00 - 9:00.
On Saturday the sale will run from 10:00 - 5:00
On Sunday from 12:00 - 5:00
This event will be in conjunction with the winter sale at New Horizons so you will have the opportunity to take advantage of those savings, too. The proceeds from the sale of the samples will benefit Heads Up! which provides therapeutic riding services to disabled individuals in Chatham County. Information about the program will be available at the sale so please come out and support this wonderful program. For more information contact Heads Up! at 542-6207 or you can call the store at 542-7366. New Horizons Trading Company is located at 52 Hillsboro Street in historic downtown Pittsboro. Another great Derby Day Party!
On Saturday, May 3, 2008 Heads Up! held its annual Derby Day party. The weather more than cooperated this year for a beautiful day. Nearly 200
attendees enjoyed a wonderful Southern buffet to the tunes of Big Fat Gap while bidding on a multitude of auction items donated by local
merchants and artists.
The highlight of the live auction was a "critter" donated by Bynum's own Clyde Jones, which was purchased
for $1000. Wonderful planning by the board and the help of many, many volunteers raised $20,000 for Heads Up! Mark your calendars for next May and
watch the website as details become available.
Heads Up! wants to thank the following people who sponsored horses at the
Derby Day and made it possible for riding program to continue and be
successful:
